Because managed care has entered Idaho slowly, families report that they, Medicaid, and other state agencies have had time to prepare and to learn from the mistakes of others. However, many families must travel long distances for services, often out of state, or must wait for extended periods, and sometimes receive inadequate care for their children. To address these concerns, Family Voices sends health information to more than 200 families, serves on the Medicaid Quality Improvement Committee, and works closely with the ICC, Title V/CSHCN, parent and mental health groups, and other child and disability advocacy organizations.
