Our State Coordinators in Indiana have mentored almost 300 parents and provided one-on-one support to over 1,300 families over the past year. This level of advocacy is critical, especially for rural families who struggle with negotiating complex health delivery and financing systems or finding Medicaid services. Transportation is still a challenge, and waiting lists for in-home supports continue to be long, up to six years for middle-income families needing a Medicaid waiver. Family Voices of Indiana helps improve life for families and children with special health care needs by representing them in the state ICC, the AAP, Title V/CSHCN, Children's Hospitals, Part C, and the CHIP Board.
